I use an sjr 842GL3 MH and a sjr844IMX Heavy for inshore fishing. They are stiff powerful freshwater rods. I am looking for something that is better at throwing soft plastics on 1/4 oz jigheads. The flowery wording on the Loomis site says the 842 medium is good for big fish that take powerful runs or something like that. I was just wondering if anybody had any experience with this rod. Thanks

my favorite rod for tossing real light stuff is the Greenwater GWR9000S.

I have used a 901 GLX greenwater for years, and never liked the rod all that much

901 is too heavy - 9000 I toss 6" sluggos with no weight to albies withthat rod better than any rod I've ever had. When I loan that rod to people it's hard to get back.

What do you mean "too heavy" ? It is GLX. You referring to the 1/4 to 1 1/4 lure weight? The rod weighs nothing
