· #2 Posted May 8, 2017 · Report post Don't think so. I know they are all over LI and NJ though. Also don't even think the bass are in CT. Two different towns and 3 spots and no sign of anything. No bait, and no splashes. My other spot NJ seems like all the party boats are not catching any bass.......All blues. Think the water is just to cold. At this time last year water was 60 water is only 50 degrees. With extended forecast don't see it getting warmer. High is like all of 60 degrees. We haven't had consistent warm spell of weather this year. 0 Go to top
· #3 Posted May 8, 2017 (edited) · Report post Also don't even think the bass are in CT. Two different towns and 3 spots and no sign of anything. No bait, and no splashes. I'm in Eastern CT, and there's definitely bait and the fish have gotten significantly larger over the last 5 days. I caught my first shad last night on a jig, going for stripers. Osprey are picking out what looks to be bunker. Last night I had a number of bites on topwater as well. Too bad I tied a bad knot and lost one, along with a brand new lure. The action at dusk was absolutely insane on topwater, but unfortunately I lost the one topwater I had brought with me. Between my buddy and I, we caught over 30 fish in 1.5 hours, and lost a number. · #4 Posted May 8, 2017 (edited) · Report post I am in stamford/Norwalk area. Like I said hit 3 spots in 2 days and in two different towns......I was also fishing a known holdover river recently and heard that the herring have dried up and the larger fish pushed out. Last two times out there was skunked. Where you are is north of this holdover river area so maybe the fish from this river went there. · #8 Posted May 9, 2017 (edited) · Report post Swiper, Thanks. CTFish - sounds like a good night a fishing, bummer on the new topwater I'm in the W Sound, a TON of herring are here and some bass on them. Just saw them Thursday and again on Saturday. Bunker are in as well but very HAPPY as they usually are this time of year. The blues from the beach and inlets in NJ is crazy this time of year. Looks like a ton of fun on artficials. Those bruisers over 15lbs are a blast. I haven't seen or heard of a spring bluefish bite like that in the W Sound in well over a decade but that's only my small nape of the woods Edited May 9, 2017 by Chunks 0 Go to top

· #15 Posted May 22, 2017 · Report post I prefer whole belly. Let's do this. and I just wanna be clear: by 'escort' I meant somebody to walk me out to the fishing grounds; not the services provided by the young fit Asian girls in that building with the covered windows on the main street in Milford. WTH is a table shower, anyways? 0 Go to top
