Not big on wood chips as mulch for the vegetable garden. Frankly, not big on them in landscape gardens either, But both of those are just me. They will add a bit of acidity to the soil.

Im going to have a lot of pine chips/dust to get rid of.

I would never use it as mulch in beds.

Guess i will haul it into the woods.

Yeah get them out of there..........Fresh wood chips attract a beetle that will attack all ur softwood trees........Happened 2 my brother

First asparagus harvest of the year......I pan fried it........

I added a lil salted butter, chopped garlic, ground pepper and olive oil.......

It was pretty darn good! I really do not know what is better.......Catching your own food or growing it!.........Maybe just both!........ :th:

For those north and west of Boston, careful Thursday morning....hopefully you haven't jumped the gun and have tender plants like tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cucs, squash, or basil out yet, as there might be a touch of frost Thursday morning. None of that stuff should be planted in the garden quite yet anyway, but if you have them out in flats to harden off, take measures.

Well I could have beaten Rob with Asparagus but I let the chickens rototill the garden and they broke the young tops off .

I'll be ready for a feed tomorrow.

Compared to most of the gardens posted this is an embarrassment, but 165 garlic plants should keep vampires and most people away, my wife included. Hey to think my body odor may give me space wherever I fish....
