sharkfishing
Guys I want to introduce new fully carbon fiber reel seat. My Friends and I designed tested and developed. It took as couple years hard working and testing to finished and here you go no free play, custom made, almost indestructible, life time warranty with some conditions. You going to see it and check by yourself on surf day show next weekend. Weight is around just. 6-.7 Oz installed compared to regular fuji reel seat is about 2 oz lighter. Sensitivity is superior to any product on market because reel seat itself is like resonance box. One on show would be fresh water - inshore seats fits reels like Stella 4-6 k, Penn 3500-4500 VS 100-150, ZB, Daiwa 3000. Heavy Duty 3 layers coming soon it will take anything from 3000 Daiwa to 14K Stella VS 200-275 Daiwa 5500 and more. Easy installation. Let me know after show what you think. Few weeks from now I going have few surf rod build and send it to my friends on NE

numbskull
Interesting. Does it change the angle of the reel. Can the reel be removed and replaced?
sharkfishing
Yes it does change angle of reel I made in mind for reels like Stella or VS where foot is parallel to spool shaft. I'm one of designers and we make them for custom orders. Yes in case you break blank can be removed isn't easy process but possible

numbskull
Let me re-phrase my question. How is the reel held to the seat? From the pictures it looks as if the seat is built around the reel foot.......but that would preclude removing the reel from the rod which seems impractical. sharkfishing
Yes U can change reel like any other seats on market. We have two different sizes already and working on biggest one now (18-20k and 6000-8000 Daiwa) going to cover blanks from 6 mm to 20 mm 1/4 to almost 3/4 inch We pressed out as much epoxy as possible to expose carbon texture what in real life gives you no slippery surface Lock mechanism is made with two springs coming from petroleum machines working in acid so we talking about the strongest springs You can get before installing we tested every single spring in machine for manufacturing defects to make sure we install Non deflected spring. Just lock take us almost 24 h to completed

sharkfishing
I going post short movie to explain reel sizes and how to insert reel in seat and short explanation how to install on blank
PhilCVG
I fondled these today at SurfDay. They are really light. You won't need or be able to use arbors to mount the seat. You are going to have to use a caliper or a micrometer to measure the blank exactly where you want it to end up. I'm not sure the couple I saw would fit anything bigger than a VS200 foot. But apparently they can be customized.
sharkfishing
Exactly Phill You are 100% right about installing. We have bigger one for VS 200-275 coming next couple weeks. If you drill holes to closest blank size, you don't have to use glue we know that as fact because few inshore rod I have never fails, is same scenario when u bend shaft and trying remove any ring with close diameter
