I thoroughly enjoyed the 2016 version of this thread so I thought we should keep the same thread language to start staring things out for the New Year and to kick it off even though I did not take this photo it is a nice shot to transition 2016 to 2017

Camera flash went to no red eye.  Does not work on striped bass.  Good way to celebrate Jan 1.

Off to a good start for 2017

attachicon.gifIMG_0560.JPG

Tom, well done, that is a nice Bow. Seeing lots of people getting out and starting the year off in good fashion.

I think the weather is going to take a turn for the worst and we are now going to get into more traditional cold temps after tomorrow.

I have not bought my license yet, I don't have a car so I'm shopping around. I will hit 70 this year in march so I may try to hang in there until my Birthday when I can get it for free. I think the idea of having to wait until 70 is sort of a slap in the face, 65 would be more appropriate. I guess the state just needs that extra $16.50 each year.

Happy New year !

Snook are the best. That is a really nice fish, curious about what it ate. Congrats.

Here's another healthy girl from the same trip. I had a banner day with a few lunker snook all caught in the wash! After going through a ton of flies all my snook and two nice jack's were caught on a olive over white pole dancer. Nothing like blow ups on top!

Another nice Snook.   :th:

So where on Earth  were you fishing, just a general location will do. I had to look up thw Pole dancer, very interesting fly, sort of like a half & half version of a popper and a crease fly
