I am going to Key Largo on April 1st and want to book a trip for tarpon and snook in the Florida Bay area near the Everglades.I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on the chances of success and if you know of a good guide in the area. Your help will be well appreciated. Knobby

Knobby,

I fished with a guy named Bob Fernicola, out of Key Largo. Flats boat and bigger boat. Displaced New Jerseyite. Nice guy, tried hard. Web site is http://captbob.keysangler.com/

I flyfished as my freinds dunked live bait and I was not dissappointed. Had a great time. I too will be down there first week of April. Don't take my date with him.

Knob,

Sorry, forgot to mention, April may be too early for tarpon. They migrate north a bit later. Not sure about the snook though. Good luck. Lots of other fish to keep you happy down there.

Thank you for all the good info. Spigola I am going to try to contact Capt.Bob, and I will let you know how I make out. I usually fish Islamorada the week after Easter, but this year Easter is early. I read that Florida Bay has some resident small tarpon that do not migrate south.

Specialist You must be confusing me with another Knobby;I do not know Mr. Ice

Marksharkey and Big Luke thanks for the website I will be checking it out as soon as I am finished here.

Again thanks to all. Knobby
