MARINE FIR ABX PRICE

anyone buy marine plywood lately who has the best price in the nj /phila area? used for new deck so a/b face will work

Not near Philly but last year I redid the cockpit sole of my sailboat and used 1/2 inch fir glassed over. Local lumberyard was $66.00 a sheet. When I built a few clam boats glass over plywood or redecked a center console I use A/C either 3/4 or two layers with staggered seams of 1/2 inch. I do think the ply of years ago was superior to what is offered today. Good luck with your project.

After thought and edit: Here's the other thing we glassed the C side after filling the knot and surface voids with bondo. The other side was treated with cuprinol, but back then it was a real heavy cuprous compound or tributyl tin. Some guys used red lead.

ok I would be using 1/2 inch and glassing both sides

Unless your stringers are unusually close together I would go with either 3/4 inch or two layers of 1/2 inch, with offset seams and bonded together with epoxy.
