I was invited by Courtland to fish AJ on jig and pop in SC yesterday.

It was a blast to fight several nice AJ on poppers using prototype 7'3" Black Hole Challenger Bank 731M spinning rods.

I used Penn Clash 6000 reel and 130g - 150g Heru Skipjack and GT Mania lures.

We fished 130' deep. When Courtland cast a popper there, i thought there was very little chance to get a hit on popper.  But I was wrong After a big swirl behind the popper, i switched to popping. it was a blast to fight several big AJ on top water lures. I thought the 7'3" Challenger Bank 761MH might be light for big AJ as the blank weighs only 4.4 oz, but the rod handles big AJ beautifully.

The rod is 7'6" Challenger Bank 761MH, not 731M.

Courtland knows where to go and what to catch there.

I got three cobia in 30 lb - 40 lb and one redfish on jigs using light Black Hole Cape Cod Slow Pitch jigging rods.
