Need a hard drive

48 posts in this topic

Hardware wise you just plug it in and your motherboad should see it. You won't be able to use it though until you partition the drive. If you are reinstalling your operating system then the setup will take care of everything. If this is a backup drive that you are replacing you will have to partition the drive manually with Disk Management if using Windows.

I was assuming you are asking about an internal drive. If it is external USB it is plug and play.

Seagate 1TB Backup Plus external hard drive....slim and fast, great for storing images and doing backups.   Can be had for 60 bucks on Amazon, I bought it for 50 at Best Buy on a sale.

I'd go SSD.  You know with EffinA that drive will need to be rugged.  Who knows where it'll end up.
