it appears Bernie is giving hillary a run for her money as they say but I have a question. Who actually supports this guy. I can say I do not know one person that supports him or says I like what he says. I know Hillary is a terrible option so maybe it is the anybody but Hillary concept but I just dont get it. I try to listen to him as I consider myself to be open minded and willing to vote for the best candidate (party does not matter to me) but I just dont understand his appeal to anybody.

I hate most of the reps but I can listen to them speak and usually can find or or two things from each candidate that I can say well I understand  his or her appeal because of....

I'm not crazy for Bernie, but I don't hate him. I support his call for single-payer health insurance, for reasons I've stated numerous times.

Assuming Bernie was elected. virtually nothing of what he proposes would become law, assuming the Republicans control at least one chamber of Congress. Even his SCOTUS nominations might all be DOA in the Senate. He'd have to compromise, and he probably would. He has experience in Congress. He'd likely NOT be a Geriatric Mussolini.

People under 30 seem to really like him.  Not sure if that's a group that helps you win though..

The upside if he is elected POTUS is we'll be seeing more of Larry David

Hmmmm..... there is always that. ;)

Bernie is a lot like Larry David. The more you see of him, the more he grows on you. Oh, Gawd! Did I really just say that? :scared:...;)

other than my idiot BIL, the only folks I know that support him are on social media...like people I "know" but haven't seen in a long time.

almost all of them have low skill jobs..i.e. work on grocery stores, warehouses, etc...the percentage is high enough that its very noticeable.

no idea if the same holds true across the board.

We'll never learn anything here in PG.  People like Trump for his unabashed directness.  He (and Mitt) have been called liberals; Bernie identifies himself as a registered Independant in his home state of Vermont and, in other contexts a Libertarian and a Socialist Democrat.   PG has him pinned down weirdo and a commie.

Trump isn't going to get a wall built; and, Bernie isn't going to make America great for all.

Each would be sending a message to party extremists, none of whom sees anything except the opposing extreme (imho).

Bernie identifies as an avowed Socialist.

Sanders appeal falls off the cliff as soon as you find out how he intends to pay for all the wonderful programs he has planned.

I agree with the "as you find out" part.  Those who are quite happy with the status quo will fight progressive taxation and those who will learn of larger deductions attributed to payroll taxes won't balance these against the saving in zero medical insurance premiums.
