VH1 Cancels That Metal Show After 14 Seasons

So they pulled the plug on probably the longest running Heavy Metal Show on tv ever.  It's really a sad day for Rock N' Roll!   With the latest string of deaths in the rock community this hit us hard.  Duh!  So I'll ask the headbangers, what was your favorite episode?  There were a lot of them, 125 according to the creators.  I hope the show gets picked up again somewhere else on a cable network-Palladia would be cool.  Lets not forget That Metal Show's hostess Jennifer!  I always love the segment when she comes strutting out to the blackboard.

I take some comfort in knowing that guys in front of the camera's and behind them as well are working hard in finding a new home for THS. I found this info from E,J,D OF TMS: A message to the loyal fans of That Metal Show from Eddie, Jim & Don:

We are sorry to report that VH1 Classic will not continue to make any new episodes of That Metal Show. It has been an incredible run of eight years, roughly 125 episodes and some really cool specials. The global response to TMS has been simply amazing, and we will be eternally grateful for the support from the rock and metal fans that have showed us so much love. We truly would have never made it as long as we did without you! A huge thanks also to the great crews we had over the years both in NYC and Los Angeles, to our producer Jeff Baumgardner, and to all the executives at VH1. And finally, thanks to the hundreds of artists that joined us on our set, had fun with us, shared their stories and many, many laughs. From the biggest names in rock history, to the up-and-comers: we thank you all for being a part of it.

Of course we very much want to keep That Metal Show alive, and with the blessing of VH1 Classic, we’ve got the keys to the show and are currently searching for a new home. We’re not sure where we’ll land, but we hope to be back in our studio and your living rooms as soon as possible. In the meantime, keep an eye out for us on the road and come say, “Hello.”

Thank you for watching all these years, and we’ll keep you posted as soon as we have news to share.

that show sucked and so do all metal heads. Bunch of ex high school stage crew queers trying to be tough because they never played sports.

Wish you would have asked me before you decided on your new name. "Harry Palms" would have been perfect!

I really never got into that show since it started I believe sometime around 2008. I've been on a fishing bender since 97. But I hear you on everything metal leaving us or stuff that we were accustomed too growing up. WAAF is still hanging in there barely. As you know fly, it hasn't been the same since WBCN left the airwaves. If we are lucky we can hear some metal stuff from the 80's and 90's and early 2000's on WAAF but it's mostly what I have on the iphone mp3 or blast youtube through the blue tooth. Even on sirus the metal channels on there sucked...couldn't get what I wanted and I canceled the subscription.

I think for the next hour I'll play some English metal off youtube. Motorhead and Maiden with a little Saxon mixed in...and then close it out with Bon Scott....and then old ozzy..**** it some Sabbath....might as well spend an additional hour because you can't listen to that all that without closing off to Slayer, some old Megadeth...Kill Em all Metallica.

Lemmy was right.."nobody gives a damn about anybody else. Think everyone should feel the way they feel themselves!"
