Maybe she was Colombian.

What in the world just happened?!

That's what everyone and anyone was thinking Sunday night after watching the dramatic—and we really mean dramatic—final moments of Miss Universe 2015.

At first, host Steve Harvey made it perfectly clear that Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutiérrez was the winner. There were hugs, cheers, flowers, a standing ovation and everything you'd expect from such a happy moment. Things quickly took a turn, however, when Steve had another announcement.

"Okay folks, I have to apologize. The first runner-up is Colombia," he explained as the camera panned to finalists Miss USA and Miss Philippines. In other words, Miss Universe 2015 is actually Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach!

Yes, it was awkward. Yes, the camera crews, audience and host didn't know what to do. And somehow the show went on.

"Listen folks, let me just take control of this. This is exactly what's on the card," Harvey shared while holding up the results. "I will take responsibility for this. It was my mistake. It was on the card. Horrible mistake. It is my mistake."

He continued while trying to hold back tears, "Please don't hold it against the ladies. We feel so badly but it's been a great night."

Great night? More like unforgettable night.

Luckily for event organizers, some things went on as planned. The final 15 contestants paraded around in bikinis while Charlie Puth performed his hits including "Marvin Gaye."

The final five contenders were asked about some serious issues facing the world. In fact, Miss USA was asked about gun control, but couldn't finish her answer before the time ran out.

Regardless of the gowns, swimsuits, Q&A and performances, the public will likely be talking about Harvey's mistake that he continues to feel awful about.

"I'd like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake. I feel terrible," the Family Feud host posted on Twitter shortly after the show. "Secondly, I'd like to apologize to the viewers at that I disappointed as well. Again it was an honest mistake. I don't want to take away from this amazing night and pageant. As well as the wonderful contestants. They were all amazing."

purposely ran over something like 30 people, DUI, had a kid in the car....?

She had a 3-year-old passenger.

It was reported by eyewitnesses that more than once she deliberately drove her vehicle over the curb to hit pedestrians who were on a sidewalk.

Very soon after the incident Las Vegas authorities stated  that it was not terrorism.

What I don't understand is the basis for their statement since the investigation of the incident can only be at its beginning.

They probably just looked at her drivers license...

LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) - A vehicle has hit a group of over 20 pedestrians on the sidewalk on the Las Vegas Strip. Officials say 36 have been injured and 1 person has been killed in the collision.

Six victims were listed in critical condition, but their condition has been updated to stable.

The crash occurred about 6:40 p.m. in front of the Paris Hotel & Casino and Planet Hollywood, and police say the crash was an intentional act by the driver.

"At this point we are treating this as an intentional act" said Capt. Dan McGrath of Metro homicide. "She is in the detention center right now. She is speaking to detectives. They are drawing her blood, and I expect her to be charged in the next few hours."

One witness, Los Angeles resident Michal Jackson, said the car was initially driving slowly on the sidewalk, and someone tried to get it to stop. Jackson said the car sped up when it reached a group of people.

"It accelerated, and it just plowed through the group of people, and we were in shock," said Jackson. "Then it kind of hopped off the curb, and there was a lady that was stuck under the car, and when it hopped back on the curb, she was laying between the curb and the street, and she wasn't moving at all."

Police confirmed that the driver, described as a woman in her 20's, drove off the sidewalk after hitting the car, then drove back onto the sidewalk and hit more pedestrians. It is possible the woman drove off and back on the sidewalk a third time, police said.

Jackson described what she witnessed when the car jumped back onto the sidewalk.

"There was another guy who was right next to her passenger window, banging on the door to get it to stop, and then the car accelerated again, and that guy flew off the car," said Jackson. "Then it made a right onto Flamingo road, and that was the last we saw of the car."

The woman driving the offending vehicle drove away from the scene, but turned herself in to security at the Tuscany Suites & Casino. Police say driver had a 3-year-old child with her, who was not injured. The car had Oregon license plates.

Capt. Zimmerman says security footage will help them piece together exactly what happened leading up to the collision.

"Due to the area we're in -- with numerous cameras belonging to the hotel, surveillance cameras, and our RTC cameras -- we will comb through that footage to get a detailed idea of what occured." said Zimmerman.

Police performed a field sobriety test on the suspect. It is unclear whether she passed.

This is not the first time pedestrians have been hit and killed on the Las Vegas Strip. In September 2005, 14 were hit and 3 killed when a car driven by Stephen Ressa drove onto a crowded sidewalk. He was given multiple life sentences.

A report from Sunrise hospital said 11 victims have been transported there, all in good condition.

15 victims were transported to UMC. At UMC, 1 victim was pronounced dead, 3 are in critical condition. The other 11 11-year-old boy -- are listed as in serious condition.

Three victims were sent to Spring Valley hospital. Four were treated at the scene and released.

Las Vegas Metro currently has Las Vegas Blvd closed between Harmon and Flamingo. Sheriff Lombardo will give more information about the incident tomorrow.

Governor Brian Sandoval released a statement on the crash at the Las Vegas Strip.

“I have spoken with Sheriff Joe Lombardo and will remain in contact with him as this incident continues to evolve and additional information is released. The state stands ready to help and will provide any assistance needed to ensure the safety of our visitors and residents,” said Governor Brian Sandoval. “Kathleen and I extend our deepest sympathies to all who are affected by this shocking and tragic event. Additionally, I would like to thank the first responders and the medical professionals who are caring for the victims this evening.”
