It comes in 3 foot lengths . The brand my welding shop had was  Blue Demon ER308/308L 1/16" / 1.6mm . It comes in a 1LB tube . I for get what i paid for it but wasn't bad . Maine Oxy. owns them now so i imagine there is one near you

Anybody in RI have any left over stainless through wire for wood plugs or know where I can purchase some locally? 

 

Only need to rebuild a few plugs, not looking for bulk.

Now that's interesting. I think I have a few black spokes left over from a wheel build many years ago. How difficult is it making the tail wrap?

Spokes should be good SS that does not stick to a magnet. Tail wrap is no different, but a longer wire would be easier. It can be tight work on longer plugs! I use 1/16 in, .062, 14g, spokes.

1/16 ss tig wire is 25cents for a 3ft stick at my local weld shop I make benders to form the nose loop hit me up if anyone’s interested starting another batch this week
