Kent I
My wife and I were out kayaking on Eastern Bay this afternoon and I observed two boats with what appeared to be teenage boys BOWFISHING at Tilghman Point. There aren't any Rays around yet, so they must have been targeting rockfish. No, I didn't confront them. I was in a kayak in rough water and they were armed and in powerboats. I think it's wise to be cautious dealing with morons in such circumstances. But I intend to give MDE a call tomorrow and revisit the area in my work boat next weekend, which will be a sort of a different dynamic.
AtTheBar
I don't blame you for not confronting them and your suspicion could be spot on. They will likely claim to be targeting rays regardless on the season. :rav:
LY2000
I think the Rays are around actually. However, based on the location, recent history and history in general for that area- it wouldn't surprise me if they were shooting terrapins or baby stripers because they are eating all the crabs. crbshooter
The rays are around. I just saw a report and pictures on another forum of the rays in the Patapsco. The fisherman launched his kayak from Ft Armistead Park.
Kent I
Yep, I was out over the weekend and saw several. Guess I over-reacted.
