North Shore Early Bass Predictor Analyzer (Scientific)

Recommended Posts

My dad wanted me to continue the tradition of offering Scientific "Early Bass Predictor Analysis" for the Central/Eastern LI region, as he did in prior years to help everyone maximize their catch success rate, while minimizing un-productive (skunk) days. You may stop all the PM's now.

He would have done so himself, but he is burdened by work overseas.

Here is the current Prediction:

Early Bass Predictor for Today  < 5%

1) Not much change to report.

2) The "NJ Fish are On" indicator is blooming for sure though.

That is the time my dad would call my uncle in NJ to get out there.

3,4) The Poet/Philosopher society are busy going through their official drink tasting pre-requisites, prior to the creation of their upcoming metaphysics work.

Some improvement seen last 2 days; we seem to be at a 20% probability of catch on the NS

and more than 50% chance in the western Sound.

I am watering as much as I can to bring the fish in sooner!

It ain't looking so good on North Shore this year, as it was last.  :dismay:

The Early Bass Arrival (EBA) Indicator is in mid bloom mode, which corresponds to residents out there and the beginning of the first migrators, but there is no activity in the waters around here.  Only some limited resident schoolie activity.

It seems that south shore is doing much better than North Shore again this year, which is usually the opposite in early May.

BTW:

The NOAA prediction was for May 6th for migratory fish to be swimming all the way out East.  See my post back in January.

Magic,

I do not think it's normal for a lot of blues to be swimming our waters and no bass under them.  The temperature variation from the avg cold to present is well sufficient for blues and bass to be swimming by our shores.  Where are the bass is a question for the experts out there.

Here we go (Who needs NOAA when we have Proven Scientific Tools growing in our back yard)

Bass has already shown.

Oh no , I understand they are here already. I just never experienced a "spring run" and wondering if that was it.

Fishinkid , that's what I heard as well there seems to be a lot blues around with nothing underneath. Which is strange. Then again I haven't tried night since they've shown up.

Will try when tides match up.

The indicator is showing it's time for Big Fish with stripes to be swimming our local shores now.

But I only have caught / hear about resident schoolies around.

The way I have distinguished resident / migratory fish if you see them follow the lure or bait but not go for it (still de-thowing) , and the migratory fish have a green film on them.   I have yet to catch any with green film.

Here are some visual:

Nostalgia Pic. When Keepers were around during the early Spring Time.

Yes, I know some may not think highly of the romex wire used, but it woks for me.  It's light to carry and it has many potential uses.....
