He made it home alive and lived a long life unlike thousands of Americans who were needlessly sacrificed for rubber trees. **** him.

For rubber trees? You mean to say that we weren't really fighting the spread of Communism?

Uhhhhhh. rubber trees??? Are you freaking out of your mind??? You sound just like the Marxists of the day. "Man, you killed people for oil in the Gulf of Tonkin!!! Oh wow, man, that was so uncool." Don't make me puke.

Actually, we did it to corner rice market.

I don't like John McCain for a lot of reasons but if any one of us had experienced what he and other POWs experienced, we would all be in padded cells.

BTW, with all the torture the NVA did to our POWs (and it really was torture), I don't see us still attacking them. Seems all is forgivin by most of us.

too funny seeing McCain up there complaining about some mild frat pranks the VC pulled on him.

nothing for nothing Jonesy - You are disrespectful in the extreme. There is nothing cute or funny about what was done to John Mc Cain in North Vietnam.

In October 1967, while on a bombing mission over Hanoi, he was shot down, seriously injured, and captured by the North Vietnamese. He was a prisoner of war until 1973. McCain experienced episodes of torture, and refused an out-of-sequence early repatriation offer. His war wounds left him with lifelong physical limitations.

You owe him an apology.
