"Stockpiles" and "Arsenals".....

If you have a variety of guns,

guns for shooting deer, guns for shooting birds, guns for shooting targets, guns for shooting skeet, guns for home defense,

you might have a LOT of guns,

that could be a stockpile, but I wouldn't call it an arsenal,

if you have a lot of guns designed for killing people in large numbers,

and you have them because one day you FEEL you might need them for that purpose,

you probably have an arsenal.

You added emotion into a completely subjective term. The purpose of your guns has no bearing on what the collection is called.

Artillery, tanks, mortars, bombers, crew served weapons, cluster munitions, and WMD, are for killing large numbers of people. Who has that stuff?

I would disagree 100%.

you can have a wide assortment of guns and if they all serve a slightly different purpose for hunting,

it would not be an arsenal IMHO.

if you actually have fewer guns, but they are all the exact same assault rifle, and you have them because you believe at some point you will need to kill people in large numbers,

you have an arsenal.......

So, group 1 is either a LOT of guns, or an arsenal, depending on how the owner FEELS? That makes a lot of sense. Perfectly logical.

if you find a definition of arsenal that specifies the type and number someone must have at a MINIMUM to qualify,

post it up,

you won't find it,

so really what we are doing here is offering up our OPINIONS as to what they mean.....

in theory,

more specifically it seems some hacks are waiting for me to post my opinion so they can whine and cry about it.

the ONE thing the hacks won't actually do, is provide an answer themselves.

I have an ARSENAL of firearms.  How do you like that?
