Not to throw a wrench or hijack the thread (SP minnow is a solid choice IME) but where does a Bomber A-salt or Long 17A fall in with the SP and Mag? Same game or different beast?

They work but dont cast like an SP.

I just picked up the same colors. Was wondering the same thing!

If i could only have one lure it would be the sp minnow.  Love the mag darter but the sp minnow was a game changer.

What size?  The smaller 5" 3/4 oz. one is a killer........KILLER !!

Some guys are "canal rigging" Sp's like you can rig a Sebile. Not a bad idea in places like the canal.

How does that thing swim ?? Any variance in action ?

Not bad at all. Many guys rig them like that, especially when fishing the canal. This style is known as "canal rigging". I would recommend using cut hooks rather than a second split ring like I demonstrated in the picture.

I just got some sinking SP Minnows, but can’t figure out when to use them instead of the floating ones.

I fish SP's a lot and can honestly say I don't notice a catch rate difference between the two.

The SP is hands down one of the best mass produced plugs ever. It sits right up there with the best of them. Always have success when throwing an SP but the only CON I see is it really beats the **** out of the fish. I don’t know if it’s become of its slim profile or swim motion but it frequently gets swallowed.
