lures used on CT shores

When i fish in CT my primary lures are 7.5" or 9" sluggos on a swim bait hook. THat and eels is what i took all my fish in this year. Maybe its the places i fish but they seem to be the ticket.

A plastic minnow or two (bomber/sp)

A metal lip or two

a buck tail

A darter

These plugs are all you need to start no matter where you fish. If you bring two of anything make sure one is light and one is dark in color

The extremely successful John Skinner only fishes bucktails, pencils, minnow plugs, and the occasional eel in the long island sound.

...just finished his new book striper pursuit, I learned a ton :)

9" sluggos- 1 of each color (alewife, albino for day, eelskin, black for night)

4 storm shads(2 bunker and 2 pearl,2 diffrent sizes)

2 sp minnows (schoolbus,bunker)

1 pencil

1 spook

if you see guys around you catching pay attention what hes using and how hes retreiving his lure.

I could limit it down to 3 essentials: 1. Smack It Popper, 2. some kind of Swimmer you prefer: Bomber, Yo Zuri, Redfin, SP etc., 3. weighted soft plastic or bucktail with plastic.

All levels of the water column.
