Gotcow?
like ALL of it. I wish there was a REAL debate on the bill and not nonsense, doesn't matter from which side the nonsense flowed. Yes it does. Your side started with my way or the highway. Your side brokered no debate.
Robert Williams
I wish there was a REAL debate on the bill and not nonsense, Ya mean like the REAL Debate Congress Should've had before they rammed it down our throats? The Democrats famously said: "The time for debate is over." Oh, come on.... you have to pass a bill to find out what's in it. Debating what's in it before it's passed is just a waste of time. Ask any democrat House Speaker.

saltydawg
policy wonks might know, but I'm tempted to believe the GOP would want this thing killed ASAP even if they knew it would be a positive thing, maybe MORE SO if they suspected it might be a positive and the Dems would get credit. Well, the bill was written by policy wankers, so we got the "surprise" bill...find out as you go! I think the GOP would want to kill it if they could offer a positive alternative or kill the parts of it that are costly and unhelpful. Unfortunately, it will get vetoed because the President wants a clunker to remain his signature piece of legislation. Way to shoot for the stars! -

I don't remember a lot of fact based objections coming from the GOP, so I can understand the "time for debate is over" let's vote sentiment. the GOP was the opposition party, so it's up to them to set the tone of the debate....... they went with soundbites, and that is what the Dems countered with. I disagree, IF the GOP can offer some suggestions that would make it more successful, I bet Obama would support them. I think if his legacy comes down to "Obamacare" he realizes it's in his best interest to have the best version possible in effect. There was a LOT of opposition and "death panels" weren't central focus. Pretending that it was all about "death panels" is just rewriting history. You know better. Finster
Ya mean like the REAL Debate Congress Should've had before they rammed it down our throats? The Democrats famously said: "The time for debate is over." Well of course. How could they debate it if they didn't know what was in it? And how could they possibly know what was in it until they passed it?
