kayak or surf during this time?

5 posts in this topic

I want to hit the parkway but should I take the surf rod and go out front or anyone catching from the kayak in the bay? I would take both just incase but I don't want to load the PA for nothing. I know the weekend was too bad but yesterday?

I launched in the bay on Friday morning and caught 3 short stripers 19"- 22".  Ocean side has been way too rough most days.  Haven't tried surf casting since it seems like we always have a strong NE wind (at least when I've had time off).  My advice would be to go bayside and fish a rip.

I been walking the beach in the spring fling zone for the past 2 weeks. There were many boats fishing close to shore.

Looked to me like the fish are out front. Good luck with your decision.:)

I have been catching mostly bass and some blues in the bay, almost every night for the last month. They are all under 25 inches. I would say you probably have a better chance catching something in the bay, but the ocean will have bigger fish. Definitely better at night.
