How to Repair--Strengthen Wooden Lure

Rate this topic

No building experience. It is a Shakespeare Special topwater darter spinner on rear. Light weight wood.

Got it when in highschool.  Top producer of lmb strikes. Freshwater lure.

Been in storage not used 30 + years.  It feels good no apparent weak areas, except where it narrows

toward rear and on rear,  I worry about it breaking here or the  screw with eye for rear hook  if it might break

the wood if fighting a heavy fish.

Is there a way to strengthen this area  some liquid that could soak into the wood and harden and strengthen

the wood. It is frog color and pattern with soft yellow belly which is flat.

I'll post a picture of it in few days.

thanks

Okie I need some pictures to get a better feel of what you want to attempt. I played with a bunch of thoroughly destroyed old warriors and reconditioned them this spring and summer. They came out all right.
