What Plugs do you honestly "need" to have?

I use a lot of plastics and bucktails and I am getting in to plugs like the SP Minnow and Bomber Long A. Are there plugs that you "need" to have for stripers?

The only lure you "must" have are bucktails (white, chart, black or wine) with a trailer. Everything else depends on location and conditions.

I've seen a lot of threads taking a somewhat complex subject and simplify it. Entertainment purposes I guess.

bucktails have a learning curve, let the guy run around with an sp and a swim shad so he can catch some fish.

Everything has a learning curve.

And anyways, what's so hard about a bucktail? Put a trailer of some sort on it, cast, retrieve, occasional twitch - done. That's about the same for every other lure out there.
