Cheap Winter Surf-Fishing Destination?

Rate this topic

16 posts in this topic

Im already mourning the end of the warm weather and dreaming of a winter surf-fishing trip down south. Ive never surf-fished south of North Carolina though. Anyone have any advice/recommendations on reasonably priced destinations down south? Florida? Gulf shores?

Would be looking for cheap accommodations / camping that's reasonably close to an airport and offers good surf-fishing. And/or possibly a place that comes with its own skiff for fishing backwaters.

Thanks for any advice!

Sleep under the bridge in Miami, where that guy got his face eaten off.

Catch Peacock Bass in the canal behind K-Mart.

Is that a spot-burn? The parking lot is pretty big!

How long you are going to be vacationaing.

That and depending on a cheap flight ticket, I suggest you can come down here and fish Konkan coast.

Google "world biker fishing"

It is by an English guy that visits Konkan coast year after year during the winter for some fishing :)

If you can find a cheap flight, everything else is cheap and the fishing is amazing. Yes you can fish back waters too :)

Yeah, no chance of finding a "cheap flight" to India. ;)

Im afraid anything north of Georgia is going to be too cold. Really looking for a DIY surf-fishing destination in warm weather during Jan/Feb. Would prefer that over backwaters or boat fishing.

Cabo is a good choice. No need for an all inclusive resort there are many small "boutique" hotels available. Google Los Milagros Cabo. We stayed there until I was certain our house was secure after hurricane Oldie. Almost downtown.

Cabo
