Penn 707z - Very very rare, and Penn 9500ss

17 posts in this topic

I have a Penn 707z, with a drilled rotor, gold spool, and power handle for sale. I really really do not want to sell this reel, considering I have only seen one other for sale in the past 3 years.

This thing functions perfectly.. has a few marks, the worst of which I photographed.

Due to the rareness of this reel, I'm asking $350 shipped/insured.

Penn 9500SS.... some corrosion as photographed, otherwise functions great.

Asking $90 plus actual shipping

A while back I was told Chuck Hell the reel restorer was selling replica emblems for the Z model on E bay I myself did not pursue this as was not interested, Chuck has had some serious Heart problems so really cant say if information good or bad ,will say none better in restoring reels to original condition than Chuck

does the reel have the 707 part # on the spool and rotor and could you take a picture of them please?yes you could change rotor but that would no longer keep its value if it has a 706 rotor on it!

After looking at many schematics, it turns out there isn't a single part, or part number on this reel to differentiate it from a 705z.

All I know is I regret my dad drilling the rotor, and I regret him not keeping the box.

706 part#s are referenced.

If you look at the schematics for the 707z, there is not a single part of the reel that can only be used for the 707z.

Good idea.

I am confident this is a genuine 707 but will ask them to chime in.

Thanks.
