When for a short two day backpacking trip up north along the coast didn't bring much gear didn't think fishing would be any good ... I should have brought more peach gear and striper gear  ...

I’m stuck in the 3-4 lb resident hatchery coho rut here locally.

Any nice fish I’ve caught have been unclipped and need to be released.

The scenery isn’t bad though.

One more week of local fishing then off the SE Alaska for some fun.

Was able to sneak out last week for an after work session...viz was patchy at best, but water was very warm and was stoked to find a few fish and get a limit this late in the season.

Gifted one fish to Albycor, and made a big batch of ceviche with the other two. : )

Fall Classic Day Today.  admire the beautiful coastal scenic route of the california shore line. Went to a place is isolated somewhere in the northern ca beach. setup shop and attempt to use bait(sandcrab) and to see what's out there. The first 3 hours were dead silent, no takers. and when the tide starts to change, it pick up some action here and there. it was a steady non stop hookups. Even hooked two schoolie stripers( both were released). ended the day with plenty of fun and joy.

Better bump this thread back up.

Took our annual family vacation to Lake Nacimiento aka Dragon lake down near Paso Robles CA this past weekend. My son fished all on his own with little help from me, aside the occasional tangle. He was able to catch almost every species the lake has to offer with the exception of the Small Mouth Bass, which he just missed a few on topwater, White Bass check, LMB check, Bullhead Catfish check, Channel Catfish check all CPR'd back. Great time and memories made.

If i was on survivor island the last two weeks, i'd be dying on two 5" Perch and infinite seaweed salad.

... I guess i could fry up little sand crabs, but can attest from experience that they are more crunch than meat, except perhaps this guy that i snagged in the leg on Monday.

We rented a cabin, so the ladies were happy with hot running water, flushing restroom, tented shaded sandy beach areas, and beds to sleep in...fun had by all.
