What was your goto lure - plug this year?

1.25 ounce buck tail with red and white rind....just caught and caught.

A wonderbread colored, floating SP minnow ....out fished every other plug.

But the bucktail as usual caught fish under almost all conditions. Just an amazingly lethal lure.

1 oz Jetty caster with UJ #70 red pork rind. I really WANT to use the other lures in my box (SP,tsunami sand eel, and some of my $20 top waters), but every time I went out I started with this lure, I never took it off my line! Hey if it ain't broke, don't fix it :-)

This is how I feel. I start fishing with a tin of some sort it seems to work so I keep fishing it. For years it was bucktails for me for some reason this year I started fishing the tins. Maybe next year I will try something different.

For their size they cast extremely well, but I wish they came larger. They hard to get out there in the surf with the wind. Does anyone know of a larger/heavier lure similar to this one? 1000 Hopefully in another week or two it will be all ava and teasers smile.gif

Have that same Yo-Zuri lure it's brought me very great fishing days. I've caught a 35 inch tiger muskie on it at the D&R canal, also landed some nice LM bass & SM bass on that plug. Even Pickerel have fell victim to it!

After years as a plugger, this Spring's lack of stripers around here turned me into a chunking, trash fish specialist. If I wasn't throwing squid bits for scup and choggies I was throwing a 2 1/2 ounce tin Charlie. Caught a handful of small stripers and a bunch of sea robins on it.
