fishweewee
okay, I'll start then. I'm tinkering with what may end up being my favorite pistol. CZ-75 SP 01 9mm, with a few drop-in CGW goodies (sear, shortened reset, race hammer). 115 gr reloads. Target is NRA B8C repair center. 6 o'clock hold with factory sights. Goal is to get all of them in the color (~5.5 inch dia). I like using orange colored bullseyes for indoor ranges. Easier to see. This was a short range session. I spent two weekends trying to figure out how to put this beast back together (steep learning curve ) and then had all of ten minutes to put 8 rounds down range. No warmup other than a few dry fires. What's old is kinda new, I guess. The CZ-75 is likely the most underrated pistol. Out of the box, it has a match grade barrel. With the CGW mods, it shoots like a 1911, even on DA. First round at 11 o'clock touching white was a double action trigger pull. At 25 yards. Crazy.
fishweewee
I'm not a formal bullseye shooter. So why practice at 25 yards? -Get out of your comfort zone -Max practical engagement range with a pistol is about 20 yards. -All your imperfections show up at 25 yards. Burn perfect repetitions at 25 yards, and you'll be one ragged hole at 5. -This exercise is mostly about trigger control.
fishweewee
I'll get some this weekend. Can't promise they will be pretty, but I'll do them. Post 'em anyways. Look back on them, and then improve the next time you practice. Repeat.

fishweewee
There's a great interim drill I learned from Larry Vickers called the 3-6-9 drill. With a B8C repair center target, standing, two-handed, slow fire: 3 yards. Five shots. They should all be in the X-ring. 6 yards. Five shots. They should all be in the 10 ring. 9 yards. Five shots. They should all be in the 9 ring.

fishweewee
no $hit bro. Mike Pannone got me hooked on these things. CZ's make me want to throw my Glocks in the trash (j/k). For the money, CZ's are the bomb. With a little bit LESS investment than you would typically put into a Glock (CZ comes with a match grade bbl, Glock does not), you get a really good pistol. With the Cajun Gun Works aftermarket parts, it will spoil you. A full size CZ 75 outshoots my Glock 34 (and by extension my Glock 17). The downside of a CZ is, they are heavy and bulky. Kinda big for CCW. Not as much aftermarket support. They are also a MFing beeyotch to re-assemble, though once you figure it out it's easy. Awesome on the flat range or for HD, though. And to think you made fun of me and my sexy Beretta's because they are hammer fired. "All the kool kids shoot modern striker fired guns." Toad has a CZ. He reads this report and there will be no living with him anymore. #otterlivesmatter
fishweewee
LOL. Things change. People change. I'm pretty open minded when it comes to guns. When you have a one-eyed guy* shooting out the x-ring at 25 yards one-handed with a CZ, well.... *one-eyed army delta assaulter and former recon marine, uspsa master and uspsa limited master
Kings over Queens
On another note, I'm gonna shoot a 3 gun event at the end of the month. One of my buddies is going to let me shoot his AR. All goes as planned and I figure that I'm going to have to sell blood to pay for all the new equipment I need but it will be worth it. 2 gun was a hoot and I can only imagine what 3 gun is going to be like. #otterlivesmatter
