It does look more like a bullet mack than an albie to me, but who knows? Easy to confuse the two. Nice catch regardless. :th:

Looks like a frigate mackerel, sometimes referred to as a "frigate tuna" as well.

Basically a micro mini albie with more slender proportions.

 

As said before, still a promising sign of things to come.

Since when are teeth the criteria for it being a mackeral? They're a pretty cool fish and not all that common inshore. They do look a lot like mini albies but there are differences.

Tomorow I'm going to start looking for them from shore. This usually consists of baking in the sun on rock piles for 3-4 hours at a time endlessly casting tins . Can't wait and hope they don't pass us by again this year ! Who else is starting soon?
