i have the livewell and the pump. what i'm wondering is what is the best way to set up a livewell in a car. i'd assume that if you ran it to your car battery then your battery wouldn't last too long?

it depends on how much power the pump draws, after driving 40-45 minutes (when you drive your battery recharges), I can use my laptop which draws about 6.3 amps for 45 mins... then my low battery alarm kicks in.. if you leave the engine on no probs, I would say get a low battery alarm, which will cut power to the pump if battery voltage drops below cold crank voltage (which is about 10.5 volts)

P.S. The cold crank voltage for trucks is slightly higher, if it is a diesel it may be up to 25 Volts, check your manual before you buy a low voltage indicator
