HSR932C GL2 7'9" 1 piece 12-25line 1/2-5oz 6.65 rod weight ozs. ex-fast, mag-heavy

I am looking at this rod for throwing bucktails tin, wooden swimmers and live eels up to around 2-3ozs (usually around 2 ) with an Abu garcia mag Elite.

Do you know what kind of guides come with it and if they are braid friendly?

Also any opinions on the rod for the type of use I am looking to get out of it?

Thanks very much in advance.

Jim,

I do not recommend this rod for the application you are considering. The tip is much too light and I would not use it with braided line.

Loomis has come out with their Pelagic Series of composite rods and Lamiglas has their own composite series call "braided line specials". Lami makes a 7ft6in. G1336T one piece composite that will probably be just what you are looking for. Another to look at is the Calstar Graphiter series. They have an 8 foot 12-25 lb built on their GF800L blank that is dynamite.
