Al or anybody else,I picked up a penn longbeach 68 covential reel at a garage sale for 10 dollars a few years ago. It is in great shape but for the drag which I believe is broken. Can this be repaired? does somebody on the board have the know how? or should I send it down to penn in PA to have the do it. thank you.

Yup---it probably has leather washers that are dried out and compressed to the thickness of tissue paper. Any good tackle shop can probably replace those and the raw brass metal washer that Penn used to use in their drags with the new HT-100 fiber and chromed washers.

Depending on how many go in the stack---probably be less than $15 including labor.
