A catolog from a major outfitter chain has a rod building set for $99.99. hand wrapper, tension device, cork reamers, tip sizer, drying motor and stand, and video. Is this a decent buy for a guy who is new (never fixed even a broken tip). Hope I'm not asking a ? some of you have answered a 100 times. Thanks for your help.

That sounds like a good deal to me as I have just bought all that separately for a little more money. Just realize that this set is the tip of the iceberg as far as getting into production mode. It's a good iceberg though.

Iceberg Goldberg, whats the difference?

Sorr Al, I couldn't resist, but if it's any consolation, I'm Jewish too smile.gif

That sounds like a very decent deal for a starter rig.

You can do allmost all the stuff us gearheads do, like fancy wraps and weaves. The only thig is, you'll need another method to turn grips.

Good luch and have fun!
