Cat and Foregrip

I just found out why the new kitten was hanging around my four 50-100lb standup sticks. It was evedently sharpening his claws on the Hypalon foregrips. I saw a rod or two that had spiral wound "leather" foregrips. Is this something that can be put over the Hypalon to hide the damage? Any thoughts?

Most all synthetic grips are too pliable to dependably be overwrapped with another material. If the wounds are not too awfully deep, a shop or builder who has a good rod lathe should be able to sand them out for you at the cost of whatever grip diameter reduction is necessary.

The leather wrapped foregrips you've seen are most often done over a base of real cork.

Sailfish, there's product, I think called Rod Wrap, that'll do want you're looking for. You can also order a special shrink wrap made in California that has pretty good grip for a shrik wrap. I put it over some old cork tape on some surf rods and am pleasesd with it. Gonna pu ti on a few more. It's called X Tube
