Rod for a 401

Al I want to get a new Shimano 401 TE to use on my Kayak for stripers and I need a rod, it needs to be at least 7 foot long , I have a 251 on a Lamiglass inshore classic that I love any ideas???? or should I just buy off the rack I,m afraid I might not like the rod after it's built then what????

I should tell you that the rod I have with a Shimano 251 is a Lamiglass inshore classic IC 66 MH and the reason I like it so much and use it for everything from weakfish to Northern Pike is that the butt section is long and I can hold they reel and use my forarm for power

ST,

 

Lots of rods to choose from. Look at a 7-7.5 foot conventional flipping stick or musky rod. These are great striper plugging rods. Check Lami, Cabelas and Bass Pro.

 

I build alot of rods like these. I will have one at the Workshop in February.
