Graphite blanks

Graphite unlike fiberglass will not soften up over time. With fiberglass you will have a gradual failing of the fibers over time and the blank will still perform, just become softer and softer. But with a graphite blank when you fracture one of the fibers it is not long until it fails.

Todd,

Is this one of the reasons the composites have taken off unlike in attempts in the past? I remember when composites were looked at as trash blanks. More durability/less failure do to fibers not breaking like graphite yet will stand up and not soften like all glass? I know one of the other reasons for the composite rage is the use of superlines and the ability of composites to handle braids better than straight graphite.

How about a lesson on composites from the masters, Al & Todd?
