Too light to believe...

Looked at the Lami catalog off their website. They list the GSB 138 2L as a 11' 6" rod, 2 pc, handles 1/2 to 3 oz. This blank is listed as weighing only 5-1/2 oz. Is this correct?

Ya gotta be careful with the weights that Lami advertises. My buddy had a blank last winter that he was going to make a tog stick out of. According to the catalogs was supposed to weigh 9 ounces. Felt much heavier to both of us so we chased down an accurate postal scale. Actual weight was 17 ounces, almost double the catalog weight given. He returned that blank, it's replacement weighted the same 17 ounces. I'll grant ya, only a one blank sample, but...FWIW thats what we found.

For anyone interested, here's what Todd had to say about the rod:

"Ron, this model has been obsoleted for "2004" but we may still have a few left around. I do believe the weight is correct. This model was actually designed as a Canadian Salmon rod.

Todd"
