Fuji New Guide Concept

Hi Al!

What is your opinion of the Fuji New Guide Concept and Guides?

Do they add distance to the cast?

Do they provide more control over fighting fish?

I would like to know the positives and negatives if you have an opinion. The above questions are the most pertinent.

Thanks,

Wavebeater.

WB,

I am an advocate of the Concept system. However, because I only do saltwater fishing, the Concept guides are too light for my needs. Therefore, I use other Fuji guide models more appropriate to my application and incorporate the Concept system.

Advantages are:

Better casting, improved blank performance and fishing control.

Potential negatives:

Need to remember that adding additional guides will add extra weight and potentially reduce the casting performance of the blank.

There are a bunch of old posts regarding the Fuji Concept System you may want to do a search for some good info. I wrapped a rod (Lami GP964) using the Concept system and I like it a lot. The rod casts very well, but I think the real benefit is the better stress distribution on the blank = better fighting power in the rod. The rod is also noticeably lighter in the tip. Mike
