What Equates to a Perigee?

I have a 10' spinner that Al Goldberg built on a blank from the discontinued Perigee line. It's a nice rod, and the action is very different from the Arra series - much slower. The action is slow; the graphite used must be a very, very high modulus, because the thing has a hard release and casts to distance well. (Sweet spot is probably 2.25 oz, it's good to three.) By comparison, the Arra 132-2 conventional I also use is a faster action with a lower modulus graphite mix. I like both rods, but am curious: are there any other rod or blank series out there that follow the Perigee design philosophy of a slow action in high modulus? Oz, I have to have you cast the rod; get your take on whether I've characterized the design fairly.

Actionwise, yes, but in a vastly slower mix of materials. I must say, Todd, that I've never owned a Lami rod that I didn't enjoy using. You've been a consistently satisfying company to buy from. icon14.gif
