Can you recommend a blank?

Looking for a conventional to serve 3 purposes. Tossing big 3 oz plus, bunker type plugs off the beach, throwing bait at the bayshore, and casting 2 to 3 oz jigs from the bridge and yak. It will be paired with an Abu 7000 C3 and 65 to 80lb power pro.

Needs a soft tip to cast the jigs and big kahounas to winch the shorts 40' high. Obviously I can be pretty rough on tackle so it either needs to be able to take a beating or it can be inexpensive enough that I don't feel the need to hurl myself off the pier if it breaks (like my Ben Doerr crying3.gif )

Thanks in advance for any input.

Sudsy,

You are talking about a minimum length of nine feet to effectively fish the beach. In addition, you are probably going to need to go with a composite blank for the durability.

That leads use to either of the following manufacturers: Lamiglas, Seeker, Rainshadow and Calstar.

I will do a little research and get back with some suggestions. I am sure other members will suggest some blanks as well.
