Hi striper fighters!

i've added a new post to my Rod Building Blog

check it out @

it may not be pretty but at least i've made no major mistakes... yet

btw, is it possible to turn the blank by hand to level flex coat on the wraps? (i'm only building two rods)

or will i be obliged to rig up some kind of dryer motor thingy? and if so does anyone have suggestions for making one?

finally, i've added a 'Recent Posts' section on the right for any who care to view/read the previous posts.

coming next: application of Casey Tru-Oil to the burl cork handle then initial alignment of the guides for a revolver setup.

cheers!

you can turn by hand... but it does take a while. I used to do it during a Giant Game. Id finish applying right beofre kickoff and by the end of the game, It'd be just about ready!!

I would try to set up some kind of dryer. they make a BIG DIFFERENCe. If you are persistant and carefull, the hand turning method will work.
