I broke about 10 inches off the tip of a 9ft honey. I bought the blank from someone who tried to wrap the rod and I was removing the guide wraps with a lighter, well I guess it got to hot cause it kinda bent, then broke. redface.gif

any way to reattach it or do I now have an 8 fter.

I was heating up the epoxy to soften it so I can cut thru it. isn't that what yer suppose to do? I've done it before and it worked. Guess I left the flame there a little to long huh. redface.gif

Never use an open flame to soften guide finish. Use a hair dryer or a heat gun and then be very careful. It only takes a small amount of heat to soften epoxy, then cut wrap near guide foor and un wrap. Works like a charm. Low heat.

See above post. In a lot of cases - if you have a sharp razor, you don't even need heat, just make sure to cut away from your limbs, digits & body. Slice on teh guide foot, and peel the thread back off the rest of the guide.
