Graphite rod blanks question...

Rate this topic

Are all graphite blanks hollow or just some??? I was looking at one this weekend and I thought that all graphite were solid through. Additionally, the rod I looked at (am thinking about buying as well) had openings at both ends- if I were to buy it, would I be better off sealing the tip end since the opposite end would be capped and salt deposits could build in there?

Just about every graphite blank I've seen is hollow, even 4 weight fly rods. Tip ends vary but you're going to put a tip on it right. Just a dab of 5 minute epoxy and no need for concern.
