Fixing finish problems

Hey Al,

what is the best method for fixing an uneven finish on a guide wrap. I tried to correct a bad spot on a wrap too late in the game, then tried to add more epoxy and wound up with one half of the guide foot finish being very wavy. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Phil

Phil,

Gently sand out the area with 400 grit paper. Clean area with alcohol and paper towels and tack off with masking tape. Then recoat area with finish. After rod is turning about five minutes, brush lengthwise on wraps and then gently warm with an alcohol lamp to remove any remaining bubbles and further level the finish.
