Fisher blanks

Rate this topic

I know that Fisher made 2/10' and 2/9' surf blanks, I believe two of the heavier model numbers were 8720 (10') and 8708 (9'). Does anyone have any information on the specs for the four blanks or can point me to a source for a copy of a catalog

Thanks

The 8720 has a 12/64" tip and is rated 1-4. I have it. I believe the 8708 is the same rod missing a foot of butt. Same tip size and rating.

Obviously it'll have a smaller butt diameter wink.gif

I have the heavy ten and light nine but they're both built and kinda tough to give you the precise butt and tip diameters. The actual Fisher catalogs - the one I still have, anyway, and one other edition I saw recently - were sparse on specs and perhaps played a bit loose with some of them, since they list the same butt and tip diameter for the light nine and ten foot models and likewise for the heavier nine and ten. Neither listed lure weight ratings, but rather only the less than completely useful line wt. ratings.

FWIW, exactly as Fisher actually listed them...

Pretty clearly the catalog is no font of valuable information. Pretty nice keepsake though smile.gif
