To CP or not?

sorry for yet another thread about using color preserver, but the search feature is awol at the moment...

so far i've only used black overwraps and metallic underwraps on my rods so cp wasn't necessary...

for other overwrap colors, i've read often that the thread will become "semi-translucent" when epoxied without cp...does that mean that the overwrap color completely dissappears and the underwrap color is visible?? partly so??

do all non-black colors do this??...anyone have any preferences to cp or not?? thanks...

I prefer no CP the finish does indeed darken the colors but if you wrap them over silver metallic the color stays almost true and takes on a jewel like quality you wont get with CP.

Another bonus is this... When your wraps finally get a few cracks (and they will if you fish hard) the water wont cloud the wraps due to the CP getting milky.

Holy moley...

The three of us are all in agreement????

This calls for a drink!

Perhaps next time we all get together I'll bring the bottle of Grappa I carried from Tuscany to be cracked.

I've been saving it for a special moment and this definitely constitutes that biggrin.gif
