Shrink Tubing

9 posts in this topic

I've done a search and found good info here, but just want to confirm: can I use regular old electrician's shrink tubing (available at Home Depot) to end the cork tape at the reel seat.

Is that right? regular old shrink tubing? Or do I need to go more fancy-pants and order some from the rodbuilding supply houses?

I plan on putting on the shrink tubing, then wrappiong with a little thread for decorative purposes, thenm giving it a light fisnish coat.

thank you in advance...more snow coming, need to have projects!!

breakaway in england also sells the shrink tubing for grip handles with reel coasters in a very heavy weight and many different colors.

even cheaper than the electrical supply companies too.

they come in around the 4 foot length.

I use it to join the cork tape and reel seat. Put a lil glue under it to keep it from sliding off, and yer all set. I prefer it over wrapping and epoxying it.
