Ramsey Outdoors has a couple models for $8 or $9. I would suspect that taking the top half of a UL rod and gluing a Veltex grip is what most of the $30 ice rods consist of.

FWW- I've got about a 4ft tip section that I put a grip on that I once used fro flycatin' practice (remember the "FLY-O yarn rod thingy?) that you can have... free-like... if yer interested, PM me and we'll work somethin' out. Oh yeah, I wanted to ask you 'bout that kayak you got, too- (trade?biggrin.gifwink.gif)

Hi

Found a 5' solid fiberglass (chartruese color)ice blank in garage. Forgot I had it. Bought it cheap and it came with cheap grips and reel seat.

So I wrapped it spiral and one more coat of epoxy and it is finished.

This should make a dynomite!!!! flounder rod.

Eat your heart out BILLY!!!!!!
