Trigger grips on an Allstar 1265/2 rod

Does this make sense? I have plenty of inshore rods (8' and 9'w/cork handles) that have the trigger grip but have not seen one on a cork-wrapped rod. Would the trigger grip get in the way when casting with a ABU 6500 CS Mag reel?

Will it help you get more distance?? How about holding and reeling in?

Really a personal choice. I do not perfer them. but thats me. I love triggers when I shoot trap and skeet thats about it. Cheers

Finally, a man after my on heart on this one smile.gif All what you're used to I suppose, but I don't even like triggers on my seven foot pluggin' rods and for sure find them annoying on bigger sticks.

I also prefer triggers on conventional rods.I use the set-up you asked about; 1265/2 with an Abu 6500 Mag. Saltheart built mine with a trigger grip and it works great. I find it very comfortable with no problems casting or retrieving.

If you are not sure which way to go you can always have a standard ( spin seat) put on and get a trigger clamp. I think some of the mail order catalogs have them ( Offshore Angler) , and maybe Tim.
