Cutting a graphite blank

The best thing to use is a Dremel tool with a diamond cutoff wheel. However, before I went high-tech I used a fine toothed triangle file to trim the tip and a fine toothed jewelers saw to cut the butt.


I all instances of cutting a graphite blank

remember to wrap the area to be cut with a band of masking tape to prevent splittering.
